Jira Data Center upgrade to latest version

We are currently on Jira DC version 7.6.6 and planing to move latest version 8.11.0

Since it become a major upgrade, Could please let me know what is the safe version we can move from 7.6.6. before we switch to latest version version 8.11.0.

Also our service desk version is 2.6 what will be a ideal version for same process. Also provide any document for upgrade process for Service desk

Hi Srikanth,

 

Updating your JIRA Software DC from 7.6.6. to 8.11, should be a gradual process since there are significant differences between both editions.

If you're running JIRA on a cluster Zero downtime upgrade is not available when upgrading from Jira 7.x to Jira 8.x. You'll need to use one of the regular methods. Only when you're on Jira 8.x, you can use zero downtime to upgrade to any later version.
