The Atlassian Community can help you and your team get more value out of Atlassian products and practices.
When setting up Crowd, I get through everything just fine until it gets to the "add an admin user" screen. When I add a user for the first time a warning message comes up with just my machine name (the machine is called ragweed) in a message box like this: "ragweed: ragweed" and then the install stays on the Add an Admin page.
When I try again, a new message pops up: "<crowd-adminstrators> already exists" and I can't go any further.
I am running Crowd on FreeBSD 7 with OpenSDK and MySQL. I have no problems running any Atlassian products with this setup - this is the first problem I've had that I can't figure out. Help!
And the solution is: specify the hostname in /etc/hosts if you can't use localhost for your Base URL name.
