why has my @ stopped working to tag other users?

Question

when I type @[deleted] then members of my team used to pop up and I was able to tag them in stories / pages.

this no longer works in confluence - but appears to work in JIRA,  this does not make sense!  any tips?

Thank you for contacting us about this. I just have a few questions for clarification on the issue.

* Do other users experience this issue?
* Does this occur in multiple web browsers?
* Do you have autocomplete disabled in your editor preferences? If that is disabled, then it will turn off the mention ability for just your user.
