Hi, in the JSM portal the link to our knowledge base is followed by a brief description which is made up from the first few lines of the space homepage. Because this includes headers and emoticons we used(which show up as unknown characters) , it makes little sense as a description. How can we edit this description?
Hi @Joyce de Jong ,
Can you just share some additional context of where these knowledge base pages are appearing? Are you using suggested articles features when raising a request?
Or, are we just talking about displayed content that is shown once customers search for a specific term? Are you maybe using KB categories?
Usually, the 'description' part is actually the initial part of the content/page that is being displayed (+ you cannot edit that apart from changing the initial part of the page itself). From what I've found, if you search for content that has emojis in the beginning, it won't render as you'd expect.
Anyway, just a few more details and screenshot(s) from your environment could help out here.
I know there was a bug related to article emojis not rendering and here's a bug tracker related to that: JSDCLOUD-10145: Articles with emoticons in the portal do not render (however, that seems to be resolved, at least when it comes to content within the article themselves).
Cheers,
Tobi
It's the knowlegde base categories which is the issue. Since we only use one category, in order to create a 'homepage' for our customers, the automatically generated description isn't helpful.
We have now changed the intitial part of the page, not ideal, but the description looks better this way. Thanks.
