new label won't work

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Add, Remove and Search for Labels

I have added a new label to a few pages but when I try to use the tool "Content by labels" it won't work. Not alone and not in conjunction with other already existing labels. The latter work fine. I created the label according to the documentation, by just opening the label dialog and entered the name, space and operator of choice. What is here to do?

When adding in new label, you may need to re-index to get them to display.

Depending on your instance, it may take a while (minutes to hours) to complete.
