confluence: New 4.1 editor, how to insert tables with ||| syntax?

samjones6 December 27, 2011

As a crusty user of confluence 2.x and 3.x for more years than I care to count...

When I try out the 4.1 editor the ||| doesnot work. I want to do this:

| | | |

| | | |

| | | | // e.,g. I copy a few lines of it

I can't do that in 4.1

What is up?

(Still on 3.1, evaluating 4.1)

thanks!

I agree with you @samjones6 if you're just setting out an empty table (I assume that's what you're doing from the example?) that it's a little painful to do that way... I find it faster to either use the insert menu, or on the keyboard to use pipes - | | | - to put in how many rows I want, then use the "Alt + Down Arrow" keyboard shortcut to insert more rows... Here's a quick example: http://screencast.com/t/5N8NxRrwyKV

When using the Wiki Markup dialog in the Confluence editor (choose Insert > Wiki Markup).

This works, but is pretty painful.
