I've configured LDAP using OpenLDAP now and have a successful connection test but I can't login with my credentials that would be loaded from the domain.

more details

the message in the log file, atlassian-confluence.log is that the user doesn't have permissions.

Hi Kirk,

The configuration file such as atlassian-user.xml is not longer user after Confluence 4.x and above. All the LDAP intergration is not configured in the UI level. You can reconfigure your LDAP via General Configuration >> User Directories after the upgrade.  Here's a documentation  https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Connecting+to+an+LDAP+Directory just for your references.
