assigning an LDAP directory to new users in confluence

Gregory Hicks March 23, 2016

So I might be a dummy and just not seeing the check box for this but...

In JIRA when we create a new user it ask for Directory (which where we have our LDAP directories) as a drop down so when creating the account we select what LDAP directory the account is in so we don't have to provide a password. I confluence it doesn't seem to provide that option for some reason, it asks for User name; Full Name; email and doesn't ask which directory the account is under.

We cannot use the "Copy User on Login" because we only have a 200 user license and don't want random people in our company creating accounts and using the software.

Is it possible to get Confluence to have the same account creation as JIRA in the since it requires us to select a directory when creating a new account?

It's not possible, there is a ticket in with atlassian from 2014 and doesn't look like they're inclined to resolve it.
