Why would published excel html render correctly in preview but not in normal page view mode?

After publishing an excel document in html format.  While trying to include it inside an html macro of a confluence page, the page shows fine in preview mode but not in normal page view mode.  The html file contains formatting and a table

 

here is the bad rendering in normal page view mode

The behavior you are reporting is due to this bug: Confluence Preview and Save pages containing HTML macro does not show the same result

Please keep an eye on the bug report to find out when it gets fixed. As you can see from our Bug Fixing Policy, customer input is a factor in which fixes are included in the next release.
