Where can i find worked examples for creating pages using the confluence API?

I want to use some scripts to create a predefined set of pages using the confluence REST APIs.

I found the API docs but they assume some prior knowledge of all the components.  If you know a good example of how pages have been created using the confluence REST API's  can you please share it.  Or create an example. 

I would like to page something in a tree.

Top page 

   1. Sub page 1

   2. Subepage 2

    3. Sub page ....
