What is a Supplier?

Troy S April 13, 2012

I have been at this for over a year and I just don't understand what a supplier is or what it is really used for. I just don't seem to under the concept. The documentation is just all over the place.

The samething goes for keychains. These terms just puzzle me.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

The Supplier Library was created by CustomWare. It provides the ability for plugins to share data, both between each other and with Confluence users. The library is used by the Reporting, Scaffolding and Linking Plugins to share data and provide a way for users to request certain types of data. Whenever you see something like this:

content:children > collection:size

or

{report-info:content:title|link=true}

...it's using the supplier library. See a list with available suppliers here.

Another example would be our Viewtracker plugin which tracks page views of users in Confluence and provides a supplier for advanced reporting with the Reporting plugin.

Hope this helps
