'@' User Names in Confluence Displaying as 'User #####'

Sam Schneider July 16, 2021

When using the '@' symbol to add a user's name to an article, I can add the user name but then when I publish the article, the user name will be displayed as 'User' and then have a 5 character string of random numbers and letters after it.

The weird thing is, is it doesn't happen all the time(example: if I refresh the page or go to a different page and then come back, it will be normal).

On the article, I can click on the 'User #####' and it will display the actual user name and info, but I'd rather have it just display the actual user name on the published page.

Screenshot shows the issue I am running into on a published page with tagged user names.

I'm seeing the same issue in our instance.

I believe this is the bug ticket for it: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-72458
