Upgrade from 3.2 - 3.5.13 Ldap config

we have 94000 users in one ou, i need to be able to limit access via ad and groups i can not seem to find the right combination of ldap authentication settings that will not eat up time synching the ldap or take up lots of space in data base?

Hi Robert,

Regarding the upgrade procedure, if your Confluence 3.2 has already integrated against LDAP server then you have the following option to upgrade your Confluence due to the size of your user base.

  • If all LDAP users membership manage at your LDAP server then you could re-integrate your LDAP server against Confluence after the upgrade is finished
    • To restrict the number of users and groups to be retrieved by Confluence you could use this documentation as a guide
    • You have two method to choose which is
  • If your LDAP users on Confluence version 3.2 if the member of local groups (membership managed at Confluence), then you will need to follow this KB to upgrade your instance, as there will be a huge chance that Confluence upgrade will failed during the user migration process
