Unable to login after migrating confluence from cloud to server

ADITYA DHULIPUDI December 20, 2018

Took cloud backup and restored in our self-hosted confluence server. We followed all the steps mentioned in https://confluence.atlassian.com/confcloud/migrate-from-confluence-cloud-to-server-724765578.html  and https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/restore-passwords-to-recover-admin-user-rights-158390.html  .But we are unable to login with recovery mode. Can you please help us with this.

Hello Aditya,

To get a bit more detail on this, can you please answer the following:

  • Which version of Confluence did you restore your cloud backup into?
  • Does Confluence start without issue? You’re presented with the login screen?

To confirm the password reset procedure;

  • You stopped Confluence and made the changes to your configuration files?
  • Once the changes were made, you started Confluence manually (not by starting the Confluence service) and attempted a login with the user recovery_admin but the password you set did not work?

For more about manually starting Confluence please see: Start and Stop Confluence

We look forward to your response so we may help you to resolve your issue.

Regards,
Stephen Sifers
