Unable to assign a task to a specific user

I have two users, both in the exact same groups. I have a page in confluence. I can assign a task to one user, but not the other. The other user is not available on the auto complete dropdown. The page has no restrictions. 

What am I doing wrong?

Hey Thorsten,

Make sure both users are in groups which are synced to Confluence User Directories unless you are using Confluence internal directory and both of them are part of it.

Check if both users are there from the following URL (Replace abc.example.com with right BASE URL)

https://abc.example.com/admin/users/browseusers.action

Sync User Directories (if using external and both of them are part of that AD groups )

 https://abc.example.com/plugins/servlet/embedded-crowd/directories/list

Thank you for the answer. Unfortunately I am using the cloud version, no external connection at all.I guess there is an indexing problem with the confluence cloud, since other users work just fine.

Yup. Try re-indexing and check if solves the issue.
