Trusted communication between Jira and Confluence does NOT work when jira server is restarted

Divya Narayanappa January 17, 2012

We had earlier setup a trusted communication between Jira and Confluence by adding the confluence link to the trusted applications in Jira. After this we had used the "Jira issues" display macro successfully in confluence.

Later on we had restarted jira server for some other purpose and after this we were unable to see the jira issues being displayed in confluence although the earlier setting of having confluence as a trusted application in jira already existed. Error message displayed in confluence : "jiraissues: JIRA project does not exist or you do not have permission to view it. message seen"

We deleted this setting (confluence as a trusted application) in jira and added once again. With this again we are able to display the jira issues in confluence successfully.

Please let us know if we need to delete and add the settings everytime we re-start the jira server.

You don't need to delete and re-create the settings every time you restart. If you see the error again, after the next restart, try debugging it before you delete and recreate again. It should be some connectivity issues.
