I am loving the new options for Confluence automations, but have a question about the Restrict Page action.
My use case:
I am using the automation to scan new pages for certain keywords, and if the page contains that keyword it will add a label to the page, send an email to the page owner, and ideally lock the page down so nobody but the Confluence Admin group AND the page owner can see it.
The problem:
The field seems to only allow me to enter a group or individual user name, but I would like to use a smart value such as {page.author} here so they can still view and edit the page too. I do not see a way to do this. Am I missing something?
Hi, You can vote for the feature here : [AUTO-1478] Enable Smart Values in "Restrict Page" Action for Automation in Confluence - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.
I quickly tried, and the Send email action accepts smart values in the "To" field!
You cannot select it from the dropdown, but you can enter the smart value expression manually. (I haven't tested if the email will actually be sent.)
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
I just checked for this particular action and it will not allow me to type a smart value in:
It deletes the value if it is not in the dropdown menu.

Hmm. I believe it is just inconsistent implementation...

Yeah, it seems like this would be a really useful feature, letting the automation lock the page for everyone but the owner (or other smart values). Seems obvious that you would want them to still have access to the page they created.
