Restrict external access to a Confluence Space via email domain

Hi all

We are a small organisation (less than 10 internal users) and would like to use Confluence Space (cloud) to share a knowledge base with clients. We do not want to use anonymous share as this opens the space to all external users and using an IP whitelist only works if the clients have a static IP (most working from home users do not have a static IP and harder to manage).

Are you able to allow access via a domain, ie @clientname.com etc with just Confluence Standard or Premium licenses or do you also need to be using JIRA Service Desk (which we do not have)?

@Anthony Caruso On Confluence if you do not use a public space everyone accessing the space would need a Confluence license. You can use a domain to provide access this way but you will be charged for every user added through the domain.

Jira Service Management allows customers to access the Confluence space through the service desk. They would be able to search articles based on keywords and submit support requests. You can lock Service Management Desks to specific customers. Customers have to be added manually or though the API. There is an enhancement request to do it via domain. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-4519

Thanks once again Brant for the prompt response. So to restrict external access to a knowledgebase space we have in Confluence to clients only, we would need to implement service desk and then add users manually (noting an enhancement re whitelist via domain in the queue).

If we do not want to move to service desk now, then we would need to either allow access via anonymous (anyone external can view space) or buy licenses per external user.

Have I got this right?

If there is another option you are aware of / any thoughts they would be greatly appreciated.
