Hey,

I am trying to restore a backup of last months confluence. As I am using a confluence+jira on demand account, I am not able to import a full backup, but only spaces. Therefore I've made a temporarily confluence only account in order to import the full database and export it as individual spaces. However, when doing this I get the following error ~ 86% of importing:

Import failed. Check your server logs for more information. com.atlassian.crowd.exception.runtime.GroupNotFoundException: Group <_licensed-confluence> does not exist

Why do I receive this error and what is the best way to import my backup in my confluence+JIRA account?

Regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

You're actually running into this bug - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-34180

The workaround is described in the bug report, but ultimately you'll need to create a temp group in the new instance (ie "dummy-group"), and then search and replace instances of _licensed-confluence in your xml backup with that dummy-group.

After that you should be able to import without any issues.

Hi Tom,

I would recommend to you to contact the support team: https://support.atlassian.com as your backup might be conflicting with the way our User management is set.

Cheers,
WZ.
