Promote template sometimes includes the "blank" page

Using confluence on demand version 5.5

I have two spaces, each with several templates. On each space I have promoted one template. In one space the create box just has my promoted template, in the other space the create box has "blank page" and my template. I can't see any differences between the two spaces and I dont want to have the blank page template. Any suggestions ?

Maybe you have unpromoted blank page template for the second space? And no blank page template for the first?

Thanks for your suggestion. As far as I can tell there is no such thing as a "blank page" template so I couldn't unpromote it or not have one. In fact the first space (the no blank page one) has a blank page available if you click the "show more" button.
