No horizontal scroll bar for large table

Sue Caughey August 27, 2013

No horizontal scroll bar for large table. I'm using Confluence 5.1.5 and I searched and they said that we had use a "section macro" to fix the problem, but I have no idea what that is. Can someone please tell me "exactly" what to do to get a horizontal bar on a large table? thanks!

This is a known bug for large table. The issue is tracked here:

The workaround as you know it, is to place the table in 'section macro'. Section macro can be accessed from the page layout setting. You may refer to this documentation for details of inserting section macro to Confluence page: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONF51/Working+with+Page+Layouts+and+Columns+and+Sections

Once you've inserted this, you can then add the table into the macro. As a result, you'll get a horizontal bar to scroll toward the end of the table's long column.

I think the default table should work fine with your Conflucence 5.1.5, if the content in the table is large, it will create the scroll bar of the page automatically, but if you want more rich functionalities, there are some conflucence plugins which provide the rich table macro, please refer to https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/org.swift.confluence.table

After you install the new macro, you can create tables through conflucence editor, Insert > Other Macros.

is this broken again in 2021?

I have a large table but no scroll bar so I cannot access the rightmost part of the table. I cannot imagine that no one else is missing this?

wondering the same, for large tables I need to scroll down the page just to get the left and right scroll, very annoying.

I'm having the same issue with large tables where I need to scroll down to access the table's scroll bar.

The scroll bar is there but the problem is its position.

The scroll bar is appears at the end of the table, which is really annoying at times

For example check the below image:

scroll bar for first table is not visible, which makes it difficult to read the content in the table
