New users automatically watching a specific blog

Jason Crocker December 7, 2021

We are going to start a c-level blog that we want all users watching so they get a notification when a new post is made. When we create new users in Confluence we also want them to be watching this space by default. How can I automate this process so when I create a new user, they are automatically watching the Blog space?

You'll need to use a script or automation of some sort.  Confluence doesn't have a "default new members as watchers" functions.  The closest you can get is to have common space where you have set the permissions to "anyone who has a Confluence login is a user of this space"

Do you have any documentation for scripting or automations with Confluence Cloud? And is there any upcoming feature request in the queue for this functionality? We have a number of spaces in Confluence that we'd like to have users automatically watching when they start using Confluence.
