Multiple charts from table

Given an existing table in a confluence document with non numerical data, is it possible to generate multiple charts from the same table? I tried using the chart from table macro, but it requires a table pasted within each individual macro. Is there a way to paste a table reference so that I can edit the data in one centralized location without having to paste the table in each macro?

I have attempted to use the table visualization feature built into the table macro, but my data is non numerical and does not compile. I don't think there's a way to make this work if my data is not numbers based, but please let me know if I'm wrong here.

Hi @Nate Dickinson ,

I think I'm late due to the time zone difference, but wanted to note that your approach is right.

To create several aggregated/visualized views of the same table, wrap it in the Table Excerpt macro and then reuse it as many times as you need via the Table Excerpt Include macros.

These Includes can be further wrapped into other our macros and serve as independent sources.

Thus you'll receive a kind of a dashboard: make changes to the original table inside the Table Excerpt macro, the updates will be passed to the Table Excerpt Include macros and your pivots/charts will be also updated.

Thank you for the reply. I actually found documentation from stillsoft that helped me find a resolution to the function I was trying to produce. The solution I have is this:

Put the relevant data into a table excerpt macro and name it something
Add a table excerpt includes macro and reference the original table excerpt within the new includes macro
Nest the excerpt includes macro inside a pivot table macro
Nest the pivot table inside a chart from table macro
Chart what is required
Copy the nested macro and change parameters to make other charts
