Migrating a choc-full server instance to cloud site - admin accounts tip over the user limit

Hi! I'm trying to migrate a server instance with 50 users out of 50 to a cloud instance with a license for 50 users. Fine, except I have an admin account on both sites.

The server instance admin account is local, the cloud instance admin account is tied to my atlassian account.

So the migration assistant complains I can only transfer 49 users. This would be fine if I could exclude the admin account on the server instance, but I can't see how.

How to solve this conundrum?

Sincerely,

Stein Haugan

Found it! The email address for the server admin was different from what's on my Atlassian account. Making them identical made the complaint go away.

Hi @s_v_h_haugan

You can make your own account on server the Jira admin adn disable/remove the local admin account.

Otherwise contact Atlassian via Atlassian Support and see if they can help you out, maybe with a temporary lager license tier on cloud.

If I understand your answer correctly, it would not have worked: I only have an admin account, no regular account (I don't use the instance myself). But see above, I got it to work.
