Linking to a file inside Page Properties Macro

Cam Campbell November 15, 2019

Is there a way, using the new editor. A way of linking to a document that has already been uploaded?

Hello Cam,

If I understand your question, you want to use the page properties macro to include a link to a previously attached item. With this said, I can confirm you’re able to include a link to an attached file within the macro.

  1. You will need to first get the link to the attachment by clicking the meatball menu on the page the file is attached to and select “Attachments.”
  2. From there, you should see a list of all attached items, right-click on view for the attachment in question and select “Copy Link Address.”
  3. Once you have the link, page it into the macro and edit the link removing the trailing version info, so you’re able to link to the most recent version. Here is an example
    1. Before
      1. https://DOMAIN.atlassian.net/wiki/download/attachments/1234567890/PICTURE.jpg?version=1
    2. After
      1. https://DOMAIN.atlassian.net/wiki/download/attachments/1234567890/PICTURE.jpg

Please let us know if this helps in including a link within the page properties macro.

Regards,
Stephen SIfers
