I have created a help platform. When the link was sent to the customers, two things happened that I don't know how to fix:

  1. The top navigation bar is in English. I need it to be in German. How and where can I change this?

  2. Icons that are included in the heading of a page are visible in the backend, but not on the link that was sent to the customers (the link without login). Why aren't they showing up, and how can I get them to display again?

I’m looking forward to your responses.

@Alexander Hamann If you look at the bottom of this page, it describes what anonymous users can see on public pages: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/how-secure-are-public-links/

According to this page, custom emojis can be turned off for public pages, so you might want to check with your admin regarding this setting in your site: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/share-content-externally-with-public-links/

Note: Custom emojis will display on public content by default. If you want to prevent this and you’re an organization admin, you can go to Atlassian Administration > Site settings > Emoji and turn the toggle off for Allow custom emojis on publicly shared content. If custom emojis aren’t allowed on public content, they’ll display as text — their custom emoji name framed with two colons, such as :dancingbird:

This same note also appears at the bottom of this page: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/make-a-space-public/

Hello @Alexander Hamann ,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

To address these issues on your help platform:

  1. Changing the Top Navigation Bar Language to German:

    • If your platform allows multiple languages, check the settings under Localization or Language. Some platforms automatically display the language based on the customer's browser language, but if it's set to English by default, you may need to set German as the primary language.
    • In platforms like Atlassian, you can often find language settings under Site Settings or Global Settings, where you can choose the preferred default language for the interface.
  2. Icons Not Visible on Public Pages:

    • This is often due to permissions or visibility settings. If the icons are stored in a way that restricts access (e.g., only visible to logged-in users or on internal resources), they might not appear for external visitors.
    • Check if these icons are hosted within restricted resources. For instance, if they’re uploaded within a private directory or only accessible via login, they’ll need to be moved to a publicly accessible location or given public viewing permissions.
    • Additionally, ensure that the icons are not dependent on user-specific data or permissions, as this could also restrict visibility for non-logged-in users.

Best regards,

Ugnius
