Is there a way to include the contents of the databases when using the Define option?

We use the database as a glossary. We had thought that if we then search for something or have a term defined, the database would also be queried. Unfortunately this is not the case. Is there a way to adjust this or does anyone else have a tip for creating a glossary that is as appealing as possible?
