We would like to use the databases as a “reference book” that is only edited by a limited team but is widely used within the organization.
When using the database feature in confluence cloud, there is the nice option of addin media files (e.g. images) in dedicated fields.
Once an image is added, it is "shrinked down" to a fixed preview size in quare format (~ 256x256) and that is fine.
Unfortunately, to be able to view the full-size image, the user MUST have EDIT right on the database. Otherwise, the necessary action "view in fullscreen" is not available.
The common interaction of a double-click to open a fullscreen view is also not possible.
Is there a way to work around this?
Given the current restriction on embedding database fields in pages, full read access to the DB might be an alternative.
That is ... bizarre and worth creating a bug ticket with Atlassian as I cannot fathom out the reason why 'click to embiggen' would be prohibited. It's view but bigger.
