Is there a restriction option for the documents uploaded with microsoft office app add-on?

Laura Peters September 11, 2018

We would like to add documents to confluence pages that can only be downloaded and nod edited. Since the lay-out of template documents for example is important, these documents should not be edited by co-workers.

Is there a feature to restrict the editing possibilities of uploaded documents?

The principle is the same for all Atlassian applications.

If you have permission to upload (attach) a file to a page/issue/etc, then you have the right to edit that file.  If you want to stop people from editing attachments, you need to remove their right to attach files to that place.

Thank you for your response!

Do you know if the 'right to attach files to a place' can be adjusted for each co-worker and page separately?

Not quite.  It can be done at a space level, so you can say "Alice and Bob can attach files, but Chuck can not" (those could be individual users or groups)

But at a page level, you can only restrict edits.  If you can edit a page, you can upload attachments (i.e. edit them).  If you can't edit a page, you can't attach.
