Is the new Linkable Headings function only available on new pages?

Question

I have tried to get link to a heading within a page to share a specific part of an existing page,
-- however the hover and get link symbol doesn't work as suggested in the new documentation

Any idea how to get this working?
Or does this only work on newly build pages?

Hi Zac - yes, it works on newly created pages.
Is there any way to convert old pages into the new editor functionality?

Yes, this functionality will only work on pages that are created using the new editor. Does this work properly on pages that were created with the new editor?
