I need help changing the layout of a page

Judy Forrister March 10, 2021

I want to change the way a page looks in Confluence.  For example, I would like to have a table on the left and then an information panel on the right.  I also need to change the order some of my tables appear in.  I thought it would be easy!

I appear to be on the new editor, which gives a layout option.  But it only provides fixed size columns and doesn't have the move up or down feature.  I thought I might be able to drag and drop tables to re-order them but that doesn't happen either. This is what appears when I click the layout icon.

What am I missing?  Thank you.

Hi @Judy Forrister,

the "move up/down" function is not given in Confluence Cloud. However when you've marked the layout you can copy and paste it on you site to move content.

Make sure to click on the layout so the columns turn blue, than copy it. Click on another point on your page and paste it. It's not ideal but a workaround that should at least let you change the order of your content.

Best,

Svenja

Thank you!  I find it a bit strange that I can't just drag & drop sections to re-order and can't re-size my column widths.  The copy and paste doesn't always work (you can't always select the area between 2 tables to paste into) but at least its a start :)
