I am getting an error when trying to load a file

I am getting the following when trying to upload a file.

 

Error creating temp file in folder: /var/atlassian/application-data/confluence-external/attachments/ver003/119/31/2031619/145/21/6521895/6521897

This could be all sorts of things, but the usual culprit is disk space when I've seen it.

You'll need to nip on to the server and run

mount (which tells you which disk the directory is on if you have more than one disk)

df -khi  (This is "disk free, in human words, showing free/used space and inodes)

If the disk your directory on is full or run out of inodes, you'll need to make some space and restart confluence

If it's not space/nodes, then I'd check permissions on the path next, make sure they're owned by the right user (the account running confluence)
