How to use parameter in SQL query macro

When I created a sql-query macro

And use Parameter in the macro like 

Set Parameter 1 as the table name

select count(*) from ? 

I got the error below, could any one let me know why it has that error?

Error rendering macro 'sql-query' : org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: syntax error at or near "$1" Position: 22

Are you using an add-on for this, such as Bob Swift's SQL for Confluence? We want to make sure that the appropriate team members will be able to see this case.
