How to land on a file using confluence search?

JonathanHJ June 10, 2021

Hi,

I have set up a new space in confluence, functioning as a document repository. The purpose of the space is to allow users to easily sort through and find relevant documentation.

The space works as intended, but I'm having issues with Confluence search.

My issue: When searching for a topic, relevant attachments show up, but clicking on a search result/attachment takes me to the top of the space instead of directly to the attachment.

I have tried playing around with labels and uploaded attachments using different methods, but to no avail. Is there no way to make search take the user to the specific attachment and not to the top of the space in which the attachment resides?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hi @JonathanHJ

I tried it in my confluence cloud instance.

This is what I got:

When I click the red link, I go to the picture.

When I click the yellow link, I go to the homepage of this space (Lab).

What link do you click?

Regards, Dominic

Hi Dominic,

Thanks for the response!

Regardless of which link I click, I go to the space and not to the attachment.

I still haven't found a fix, but will keep you posted.

Thanks, Jonathan
