How to hide / unhide fields in Confiforms?

Hi Everyone, i found the following article for hiding / unhiding confiforms fields:

However, somehow the hide / unhide does not update, whenever i perform an action and the field is either hidden or not (depending how i set it up) from the beginning.

What am I doing wrong?

Sorry I found the mistake. i configured something on the field itself which then "blocked" it.
