I'm a new user and admin, sorry if this is an obvious one, but I need to make sure before I report back. We are using Cloud Confluence.

As we get ready to roll out Confluence to our organization, we would like to hide some of the links from the top navigation bar. Specifically, it would be great if we could hide:

  • Teams
  • Apps
  • Create +

I tried searching through public documentation and the community posts, and I haven't seen anything recent that looks relevant.

Is it possible to hide some of those top navigation links? If so, how?

Thanks!
Joe Montibello

Hi @Joe Montibello _he_him_ Welcome to the community!

In Cloud Confluence, customizing or hiding certain elements from the top navigation bar, such as Teams, Apps, and the Create + button, isn't natively supported through the Confluence user interface. Atlassian doesn’t provide built-in options to hide or rearrange elements on the top navigation bar in Confluence Cloud.

Thanks very much for the quick response! I suspected that would be the answer, but I figured it was worth asking.

While digging through more documentation, I found this link:

https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Navigation-Refresh-articles/The-new-navigation-Coming-to-you-in-2025/ba-p/2800982

There's a section on there that suggests that the default top navigation is going to be simplified next year. Crossing my fingers that the nav refresh will hide some of these options by default!

Take care,
Joe Montibello

When people want to de-Confluencize Confluence, they turn to the so called theme apps.

Some simply provide a layer over Confluence content, some provide functional features like support for conditional content, versioning, SSO, Zendesk/JSM integration, Google Analytics... etc.

For example, this is our public doc site - content is authored in Confluence, the site is created with Scroll Viewport.

Other apps include Instant Websites, Refined, Spacecraft...
