How do I remove a user's access to a space/document

Andreas Georgiou January 25, 2019

Hi everyone,

Wondering if you can help me. This issue seems to be really complicated, I might be going about it the wrong way, so any guidance would be so appreciated.

There are certain spaces/documents on confluence which I want to restric one sepcific user from accessing (viewing). However, I can't seem to find how.

I go to spaces and go to restrictions, but this doesn't seem to have any options to stop a user from seeing this area?

Am I missing something?

Thank you.

Hey Andreas,

Permissions in Confluence don't work on the concept of exclusion.

If you want to exclude one user from accessing the content you will need either:

  • Provide all other users access to the Spaces on a per-user basis
  • Create a group with all of your users and give that group access to the content

With either option you'll have some work to do (depending on how large your org is).

Hope this helps,

Tyler
