How do I disable the global search option and use only a local search option?

tsur.rothfeld March 9, 2020

I am using Confluence 1000.0.0. The default global search option (under the "recent pages" option) on the top left displays results from additional spaces that we created. How can I configure it so that it displays only search results from the same space? Thanks in advance anyone who can help.

Hello there,

Thank you for raising this with us.

The Quick Search option is not configurable itself. It will always search the entire Confluence site, unless you have used specific Confluence Search Syntax to get a more specific result. An example of the parameters you can use are available on the linked knowledge base article.

We do have a long-standing feature request for this to be able to configure the site's quick search feature:

As a workaround, you can use the Livesearch macro in a page. This would allow you to restrict to a specific space.

Let me know if you have any trouble with that!

Regards,

Shannon
