How come my link is asking people to join Confluence when it is set to 'Public'?

I have an index page with hyperlinks to other pages. All pages are set to public, but when I click on one of those links from another browser to test the public visibility, it says I must join Confluence. I thought everyone on the internet could view public links. Please help! I need these links to be open for viewing with no limitations.

Disregard, I resolved this. I copied the hyperlinks,  but they were not the public ones. The public links work.

Hi @Alessandra Curcio

Important thing - public links are excellent for sharing individual pages. However...

If you want to share the entire space, and preserve the links among individual pages as well as the navigation tree, you can allow anonymous View only access to the entire space.

This way, or you regular Confluence links would always work and you won't have to deal with creating an index page with individual public links.

(I'm only mentioning this because this issue is really frequently discussed here).
