How can I export a space backup via API?

Hi there

As I see, there is a chance to create a confluence "overall" backup via API. But the restore of this overall backup has strong limitations (e.g. size). So we have to backup each space separately. 

How can I export a space via API?

Thanks for your answer. Hm. How can I backup my Spaces or my whole confluence site so that I can restore the backup in Confluence Cloud? Is there any way?
