Hi All,

We have pages in confluence that were created to describe a piece of work.. but the work was descoped.

I appreciate that I can archive the content. But the work described on the page may get picked up at some point.

We could add a heading saying "this work was planned for Q1, but was descoped" but everyone is busy and doesn't always read the entire page. Also, AI tools may pick up sentences from the page, but loose that context.

Any suggestions from the community?

HI @Paul Skinner  and welcome to the Community.

I would copy/move the pages to a dedicated space (we actually have a space called smth like Active Archive :) ) for the exact same reason.

I used a little app called Copy Page Tree by Appfire - because it can add prefix/suffix to the copied pages in the process.

After this, I deleted the pages from the 'source' space, gain, for the reason of 'I don't want this to appear in the search results'.

You can, of course, move/copy pages using Confluence tools, I just found the app more convenient.

Anyway, the main idea here is to use an extra space as your vault (attic :) ) for stuff that you might need eventually.

@Paul Skinner you can bulk add a title page prefix or suffix, one of the tools in Space Content Manager. This is easier than making a copy of pages and less problematic as all the internal links will stay the same.

Select all the pages you want to change and in a few seconds add a prefix and/or suffix.

@Paul Skinner Isn't this sufficient if you disable access to that page using page restrictions?

That way it would be hidden from your users, for sure. I don't know if it makes the page inaccessible for the AI, too, though...
