May I know if your Confluence instance is using UTF-8? Or were you referring to the umlautes in an Email instead of a Confluence page?

I believe this is now fixed with the latest version 2.x+ of the Send EMail To Page AddOn for Confluence

The tests I conducted were straight "out of the box" versions of Confluence using the local embedded database. If you see problems please follow the link Stefan provided with a built in Confluence test to see if it is your database.

Is there an other plugin to get emails into a confluence page. "Send Email to Page Plugin" is not able to work with "German Umlaute" like öäü.
