Extract all the documentation in a workspace with meta-data

Marc van der Peet December 30, 2019

Dear all,

For security reasons I am looking for a way to extract all the documentation, we have in one space with certain meta-data. Ideally, I would get:

name-space, name-documentation, last-edit-approved-by.

Could anybody tell me whether there is a way to do this?

Hi Marc!

You should be able to get most or all of this data in an XML space export (see Export Content to Word, PDF, HTML and XML).

An XML export will include data about all the pages in a space, though you'll have to do some manual cleanup of the XML file to get just the relevant data you're looking for.

However, I'm not familiar with the last-edit-approved-by property. I don't believe Confluence has an edit approval functionality by default, so this is likely coming from a customization or 3rd-party plugin. If you don't see this property in the XML export, you might want to reach out to the creator of that functionality to see if they have any ideas for export.

I hope this helps!
