Excerpt Macros in Comala Publishing`

Amichai Klipstein December 22, 2024

I'm looking to improve my documentation workflow. Up to now all work was done in the same space. I created a space for all draft documentation as documents are updated at different times.

A friend recommended I use Comala Publishing to publish documents across spaces. In my release notes I heavily use the Excerpt macro. To my understanding, Comala will overwrite the document in the target space.

How does that affect excerpt macros? Will I have to redo all 'Insert Excerpt' macros across my documentation? Are there any other solutions for that?

Hi @Amichai Klipstein

To enhance your content management capabilities, consider integrating MultiExcerpt with Comala Publishing.

This enables you to consolidate multiple excerpts onto a single page, streamlining your content management process.

By leveraging MultiExcerpt, you can maintain consistency across different pages and spaces without requiring constant updates.

Furthermore, ensure that your Comala workflows are properly configured to manage the publishing process. This includes setting up triggers that automate the publishing process when a page transitions to its final state, reducing the need for manual updates and increasing overall efficiency.
