New Confluence behavior, as of about 2 weeks ago: when attempting 'Edit in Office' on a Excel 2010 spreadsheet, we often see a quick popup saying file conversion in progress. When it disappears the spreadsheet opens HOWEVER the file has been converted to *xls and is opened as Read-only with a scratch filename, ex XI0000014.xls.
We have been using Confluence and both Excel 2007 & 2010 spreadsheets since January 2012, and have been able to Edit in Office for both Excel versions, altho sometimes need to launch Excel first, then click Edit in Office. This file-conversion behavior is new; what can we do to start troubleshooting
Have you updated to Windows 7 recently?
There is a known bug with Windows 7, the solution is to update the Office Connector:
