Embed and Reference Specific Data from a Table Across Multiple Pages with Automatic update

Alexander Demerson September 21, 2024

Does anyone know how it may be possible  to reference individual data cells from a table on one page and display them on other pages with automatic updates when the source data changes?

HI @Alexander Demerson ,

If you need to reuse your table only partly, you may use the app that we develop - Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence.

Here you'll have two options:

  • Reuse the source table using the Table Excerpt/Table Excerpt Include macros. Then use the Table Filter/Table Transformer macros to filter out the unwanted rows and hide the unwanted columns from your reused copy
  • Wrap your already created native Confluence table in the Spreadsheet from Table macro or create an Excel-like table from scratch using the Table Spreadsheet macro. Then use the Table Spreadsheet Include macro and select a cell range that you want to reuse and show on another page

Hope it may also help.

Hello @Alexander Demerson

I was checking Content Mirror for Confluence for a totally different reason and found out that it does THIS:

  • ⭐ Mirror tables
  • ⭐ Mirror table cells

thanks for this!

Hi @Alexander Demerson

Without having a lot of details on your requirement, I would explore the page Excerpt macro and the Include Excerpt macro to achieve this.  It would require you to keep the table cells inside the macro to be able to display it on other pages.
