Edit in Office does not work in FireFox when file name has an em-dash (long dash) -

We have on trouble using this in IE - but in FireFox when we try to open a file /w an em-dash (the long dash) it errors out - and the file name will show a !! where the em-dash should be (and the logs show an a /w a character above it in the file name).

Any ideas on a work around? We've updated the FireFox plugin and tried changing the font/ect - no luck there.
