I know there is a restriction on duplicate page names within a space, but today I was able to create a space with the same name as an existing space. I was not aware this was possible. Yes, the suggested space key was duplicate, but that's not an unusual occurrence and I did not consider that the space might already exist.
Can anyone confirm this is correct behavior?
Yes, while the Space key is unique, Space name need not be unique even when importing the Confluence space.
You can create different spaces with the same name (though not recommended) but should have different Space keys between them.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Vamsi
