Hi
We use Confluence cloud-
We have found that if we go to a page, click the 3 dot icon (for the menu to attachments / export to word etc) and go to attachments - from the attachments page we cannot drag and drop a file into the drop area for attachments.
In chrome and firefox it opens the file in a new tab rather than upload the document to confluence (as though the browser didn't detect the upload element on the page)
In IE, it highlights the dropping area as though it's working , but upon releasing the mouse button, the element stays highlighted and nothing happens.
Manual upload via the browse button works.
If we embed an attachments macro into a page, that drag and drop feature does work across browsers.
Thanks,
Milo's right, but as a specific answer to your question: That sounds quite odd, and you've done the things we'd often suggest (different browser, different ways of uploading). If you want to know why it's happening - or you need to work this way for some reason - put a ticket into Atlassian and ask them to investigate.
There's no need to go to the Attachments page: Just drag and drop on to the Confluence page itself. If you drop an attachment in View mode, the attachment will be hidden, but if you drop it in Edit mode, a thumbnail will be generated.

That doesn't seem to be the case any more. I am not able to drop text files into my pages. I have to manually add.
