Download pdf from Confluence page on smartphone

Hi

For our business we need to share pages in Confluence where we have pdf files.

However from smartphones it seems that no one can download the pdf files.

We can click on the icon of the pdf file but it does not download.

Is there a solution to that ? That is a problem for us. We all need to have access to those pdf files from smartphones.

Indeed it works from the app

However for this use case we mainly use Confluence public pages. Most of our users, that are on the field, open the page from their browser on their smartphone. In order to simplify access to users from a single link to the page.

Downloading pdf files does not seem to work from Chrome and Firefox from my Android smarphone.

I just tried to reproduce the issue, but for me, it works.

1. I uploaded a PDF attachment to a Confluence page
2. On Confluence Mobile (Android app), I see the page with the attachment
3. I click on the attachment and get a view of the attachment
4. In the attachment options, I can either Share or Download the file

@Vincent Thanks for the elaboration. From the mobile web browser (Chrome), I'm also able to download the file without any issue.

I tried again and I cannot download any pdf file from the public page. Clicking on the file icon does nothing.

- from an unsigned user

- with Chrome (126.0.6478.122)

- or Firefox (127.0.2)

- on Android 14

A colleague suggested to turn on "PC version" in the browser, and then it worked and I could download the files.

However it would be nice if this could work straight from the mobile view of the browser. Because our teachers on the field are not "techy".

Maybe some JS event is missing in the mobile view ?

I'm sorry but the problem is still here. Is there a fix that could be possible?
